Eternal Return, 2014

Eternal Return is a human-powered zoetrope with strobe lights. As people work the rowing-pulleys, the piece begins to spin, and the strobe lights come on making the piece come to life! The concept of the Eternal Return speculates that the universe has been recurring, and will continue to recur an infinite number of times across infinite time and space. This concept is touched upon in virtually all cultural and religious narratives. Designed by Peter Hudson, Eternal Return has been shown at Ghost Ship 2015 and 2014 on Halloween in San Francisco. Originally set up at Burning Man 2014.

28’ TALL, 50’ DIAMETER; WEIGHT: 14,000 LBS
